TOWES
TOWES (Test of Workplace Essential Skills), developed by the British Columbia Construction Industry Skills Improvement Council and Bow Valley College, offers testing and training that uses workplace documents to measure three essential skills needed for safe and productive employment: Reading Text, Document Use and Numeracy. ETS Literacy Tests

The Verizon Thinkfinity Lesson Plans
The Verizon Thinkfinity brings new resources for teachers, tutors and trainers, such as an interactive graphic organizer for outlining comparative essays, and lesson plans about the benefits of recycling. (skills: TS)
Skills for Life Core Curriculum
This site enables teachers and tutors to search the literacy curriculum, investigate the links to guidance through their Access for All pages, and then save, store and/or print relevant sections in the notebook facility for use in lesson plans. (skills: TS, CL)
Jolly Phonics
This site brings the tutor visual hints for helping students make key sounds and audio support for the sounds. Important: don't go to "Jolly Phonics" from the main menu. Go to "Audio" instead, where you will be offered a choice of British or North American English, and also an option to download all the sounds, rather than open them up from the site one-by-one.
