Highlights from LLO's Celebration Conference 2011

Laubach Literacy Ontario celebrated 30 years at its annual conference June 24th to 26th at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario.  Thirty years of supporting and promoting adult literacy in Ontario is quite a feat in this day and age.  Congratulations to us and our members…we couldn’t have done it without your support.

Literacy Awareness Day 2011

On Monday, February 28, 2011 Laubach Literacy Ontario hosted our second  annual Literacy Awareness Day at Queen’s Park in Toronto. It was amazing to see it all come together after months of planning.  From the moment we arrived until the moment we left Queen’s Park we were busy.

2nd Annual Literacy Awareness Day - Postponed to February 28, 2011

In light of the recent "Literacy at Queen's Park" event hosted by the Ontario Literacy Coalition, LLO has decided that holding a similar event in such close proximity would not have as great an impact.  LLO's Literacy Awareness Day has been postponed to Monday, February 28, 2011 and will be held at Queen's Park.

Online Promotional Video for Employers: "Literacy in Ontario: The Bottom Line Impact"

The Local Boards Network, in partnership with Literacy Link Niagara, LLEO Essential Skills Training, Niagara Workforce Planning Board and Employment Ontario, has created a helpful four-minute online video called “Literacy in Ontario: The Bottom Line Impact”.

Ontario's Sector Networks offer vital support to literacy programs

A newly released overview of Ontario's literacy sector networks highlights the ways in which Laubach Literacy Ontario and other provincial organizations provide effective support and coordination for literacy programs in Ontario. LLO and the other sector networks "support their members and consequently their learners in a very targeted manner, providing direct, timely and practical assistance to programs, and thus contribute in a substantial way to the delivery of quality literacy programming in Ontario."
